Growing up in the Black Country, Rebecca then trained at Warwick University as a teacher in 1996, in Drama and Educational Studies. In 2007, she completed her masters degree in education at Wolverhampton University.
After becoming an advanced skills teacher, and completing several international research visits to New Zealand, South Africa and Norway, Rebecca taught in a range of Primary schools as assistant head teacher and deputy head teacher.
Rebecca led the initial teacher training programme, School Direct route for a Teaching School in the Midlands, partnerships with Worcester University and the University of Birmingham.
She is now Head Teacher of a Primary school in Dudley authority and is research lead for Hales Valley Trust. Rebecca’s passions include working to improve schools in challenging areas and research informed practice.
She loves reading books, looking after her two children and has just started to play rugby!
Rebecca hosts the Teacher Hug Book Club and shares her favourite adult non fiction reads!
